MORROW, Ga. - Carter's, the number-one brand for children's apparel from newborn through age six, has launched www.carters.com. This web site focuses on Carter's new brand theme, Celebrating Imagination (TM), and provides a forum for Carter's to interact with its consumers and their children.
Carter's web site describes its three baby collections: Just One Year (TM), Carter's Classics and Baby Basics while also providing new parents with a complete check-list of layette products for their new baby. Other Carter's collections described include sleepwear and playclothes for children, newborn through age six.
Including new product information and a store locator, www.carters.com features Carter's most recent launch, Celebrating Imagination. Centered on celebrating the imagination in children, Carter's has incorporated children's art, sayings and creations into its packaging, presentations and products.
As part of Carter's fall 1999 line, the company will introduce a collection called Real Love (TM). The collection incorporates John Lennon's artwork that he drew while teaching his son, Sean, to read. These whimsical drawings are translated onto layette, sleepwear, and playclothes for young children. Available nationwide in department stores and specialty shops during summer 1999, Real Love reflects Carter's objective to celebrate the imagination and creativity in all children.
"Our focus is on the imagination in children," said Fred Rowan, chief executive officer and chairman of Carter's. "We frequently hear from mothers and grandmothers who share stories with us about the generations of children in their own families who have enjoyed Carter's clothes.
We look forward to encouraging even greater communication and the sharing of ideas about imagination and creativity with parents and children through our new web site."
Carter's research indicates that parents are looking for a simpler way for children to play and that parents believe that it is important to celebrate milestones and inspire creativity and imagination in children. Carter's invites parents to send their children's artwork for use in future advertising, packaging, events and in-store displays.
As the premier provider of baby clothes for 135 years, Carter's has an on-going relationship with parents at the most special of times. Mothers rely on Carter's to provide them with valuable information. Carter's is continually creating new products for children and invites everyone to visit its web site at www.carters.com and discover a playful world of imagination and creativity.
Known to millions of mothers and grandmothers, Carter's is the number-one brand for children, newborn through age six. In 1999, Carter's will sell more than 60 million units. It is the favorite brand for young children.
